Simple Image Resizer

This web 2.0 tool would help students easily resize pictures for projects or other uses. I would use this tool for web 2.0, Mr.Porfido class, to use for my weekly blog postings. This will help me be able to put any picture on my blog post without it being too big or small. This will help me learn about how to use different tools for school or personal use. This will also teach me how to use the content by showing me  the different ways to use different softwares to upload pictures

Do Now 5/18

What things ignite your desire to help make this world a better place?

When I see the amount of crime, and hatred in this world, I want to make it a better place.

How can your life goals not only fulfill your own needs but contribute to the community?

If I choose a career in doing something that deals with those topics and is an effort to stop them, then I would be contributing to my community.

Prosthetic electrodes will return amputees' sense of touch

An innovative electrode capable of connecting a prosthetic arm's robotic gives a sense of touch to the human nervous system that it's attached to. The device is part of a three year, $1.9 billion DARPA project and is being developed by Daniel Moran and his team at Washington University in St. Louis. The electrode, technically called a macro-sieve peripheral nerve interface, is comprised of a thin contact lens-like material less than 20 percent the diameter of a dime. It reportedly allows its users to feel heat, cold and pressure by stimulating the ulnar and median nerves of the upper arm.

Devices with feeling: new tech creates buttons and shapes in mid-air

UltraHaptics is a young company dreaming to change the way we interact with electronic devices. Their technology creates tactile three-dimensional shapes literally out of thin air using ultrasound. The company's tagline is "Feeling without touching." Through the emission of sound waves, sensations are projected through the air and to the user. Changes in air pressure are perceived as suspended tactile surfaces, creating invisible, but tangible, interfaces.

Do Now 5/5/15

To the class curriculum, I would add an astronomy class. This class would have to meet at night, because astronomy is the study of the stars, which come out at night. The students would learn how to map out star constellations, use a telescope, and learn about the different types of stars. The class would be outside, probably on the field. It would be an interesting class, and would be a class of your choice, so people would strictly be there if they wanted too. To show their learning, the students could produce different constellations of stars that they have found.
I would like this class, and I feel others would too, because this class would be different from any other class we could have. I have an interest in astronomy and I feel that this class could introduce more people to different topics to study. Also it would be a lot of fun because it is something different.
