Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

Speak
During my freshman year, I am taking English I. My teacher is Ms.Hunter. In this class, I have expected to learn about writing techniques such as grammar, vocabulary, paper writing, paragraph improvement and literary uses. I also had expected that we would be reading a couple of books and improving our test taking techniques (like for PARCC). In this class so far we have learned many thing. These topics include literary terms, wordly wise words, persuasive techniques, reading comprehension, and learning how to improve our writing. Also, we have read many short stories, the book Speak, and are currently reading Romeo & Juliet.

Ms.Hunter's grading policy includes many different percentages in Realtime that would make up our grade. For formal assessments, which includes tests and quizzes, it is 40% of our grade. For informal assessments, which includes classwork and participation, it is 10% of our grade. For homework it is 10% of our grade. Finally for Performance based assessments, which includes projects and presentations, it is 40% of our grade. Ms.Hunter uses technology in the class when we use the computers to practice PARCC online, and when we do essays in the class.

My favorite part of this class is when we read thing, such as we read Speak, and Romeo & Juliet. This is because I like to read and I find all of the things that we read to be interesting. Also we did a informational project that included us doing a PSA and making a commercial on a specific topic. Also I have always wanted to read work of Shakespeare, so I'm excited that we are reading Romeo & Juliet.
